JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities:

• Provide level 2/3 support to other engineers and clients in a friendly and helpful manner
• Follow procedures and instructions from your Team Manager
• Design and implement new client networks and provide solutions for improvement
• Investigate and isolate connectivity problems or performance issues
• Monitor client network health using monitoring tools such as Zabbix/Continuum (a RMM Solution)
• Conduct firmware upgrade in response to device vulnerabilities
• Perform remediation work to address issues found in penetration tests and/ or technology audits
• Handle network security related matters and provide insights / guidance to the rest of team on proper handling
• Keep the operation standard in compliance with financial regulation
• Keep your Team Manager and Helpdesk aware of the status of your current and outstanding tasks, escalating when tasks take longer than expected
• Promptly update job status in ticketing and activity tracking systems
• Remain contactable via phone during out of office hours
• Occasionally perform upgrade / maintenance / support jobs during non-office hours
• Keep up to date on latest technology standards

Requirements:

• 3-5+ years in network specialist role
• Trade floor or financial services IT experience would be an advantage but not mandatory
• Diploma or above in fields of Information Technology, Software Engineering or equivalent
• Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory
• In-depth knowledge in technologies such as layer 2 (vlan/trunk, spanning tree, link aggregation), layer 3 (OSPF/BGP, MPLS, NAT, HSRP/VRRP), site to site VPN (both internal of 3rd party), remote access solutions, firewall security policies, HA technologies (ISP failover, stacking, firewall failover), wireless AP, DNS/DHCP, digital certificates, encryption protocols is required
• In-depth knowledge in Cisco networking (layer 2/3 switches and routers), firewalls (FTD/ASA)
• Knowledge and experience in cyber security concepts and subjects
• Knowledge in Palo Alto, Fortigate, Checkpoint and Juniper firewalls would be an advantage
• Knowledge in Cisco VOIP technologies (CUCM/CME) would be an advantage
• Industry certifications would be an advantage (CCNP/CCIE/CISSP)
