JOB DESCRIPTION

NPI Buyer Lead

Responsibilities:

  • Drive down product cost and time-to-market during new product development;
  • Actively involved in product development process with R&D;
  •  Facilitate design-to-cost discussions;
  • Recommend alternative/ already existing parts;
  • Manage sourcing for new product development;
  • Align with respective category strategy/ manager before sourcing of specified parts;
  • Decide on supplier for specified parts during new product development according to respective category strategy;
  • Support and execute procurement-related tasks during engineering change projects;
  • Tool replacement management;
  • Engineering notice management (ECN);
  • Interfaces: Close collaboration with R&D and alignment with respective category leaders/managers;
  • In sourcing/out sourcing projects executed by NPI Buyer/Manager based on the Category Strategy (in alignment with the Category Leader/Manager);
  • Search for vendors providing new technologies (in alignment with the Category Leader/Manager);
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Manager in support of departmental goals.

Requirements:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Project management and time management skills;
  • Excellent business management and presentation skills required;
  • Excellent negotiation skills;
  • Strong financial and analytical skills;
  • Technical comprehension of products and components;
  • Ability to implement Lean manufacturing and supply chain processes;
  • Skilled in continuous improvement and cost reduction;
  • Working knowledge of SAP or ERP systems;
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Word);
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Business or Supply Management preferred;
  • 5+ year’s experience in procurement / supply chain management;
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified in Production and Inventory Control (CPIM) preferred;
  • Project Management experience.
